The Edit menu
which is available in the New OV Large form provides the
ability to quickly access or update Face Sheet data for
the patient while charting an office visit.
The menu items above link to the Face Sheet Editor below,
which, which opens the particular item
requested. In this case, selecting the Allergies menu item opened the Face Sheet Editor to
Allergies.
The one
exception is the Immunizations menu item which produces
the following window.
Actions menu
The Actions menu
also provides quick access to chart areas which correspond to the same
areas on the patient chart.
Typical
results are the responses to selecting Medications List or
Procedures List:
Database menu
The Database
menu provides a quick way to enter a new New Diagnosis, New Drug, construct a
new Template, or copy an office visit to a Template.
New Blank Template
and Copy OV to Template are very powerful tools and are dealt
with in the Templates–OV area of these
Tutorials. They are, respectively, a very straight forward way
for the caregiver to construct a template from the beginning, and a way to
quickly save an office visit as a Template to be reused time and again.
The New Drug and New Diagnosis items operate
similarly. The New Drug window is used to add a new drug
to the SpringCharts drug database.
Tools menu
The Tools menu
also provides access to a number of key functions as shown below:
H&P
produces a History and Physical for the patient as shown below:
Chart Tab
allows the user to name the current office visit chart and place it in a
selected tab location in the Care Tree.
Draw
launches a basic drawing program as shown below:
Excuse/Note/Order writer
is a robust function that is covered in detail at Letter Writing.
Patient
Instructions are a robust function that is covered in detail at
Patient Instructions.
Resend Routing Slip / Transaction
resends a Routing Slip. This is useful in the case
where a Routing Slip was accidentally deleted by billing
personnel.
Spell Check
is a simple, but powerful spell check function.
Template
provides access to Templates which can be placed into the
office visit. An example of the Choose Template window is shown
below. Much more information on office visit templates is at
Templates–OV.
Date of Service brings up a calendar from which the user can
select the date the office visit occurred. The date will be stored
with the visit chart. SpringCharts records three dates
for each office visit: Date Created, Date of
Service and Date Last Modified. These dates are
displayed at the bottom of the office visit.
